The online platform for Chaos Vantage users to submit, vote, and collaborate on suggestions and feedback.
It would be a major step forward if Vantage could assemble scenes from multiple sources and renderers, similar to the workflow demonstrated in Envision.
Currently, Vantage cannot combine assets from different platforms directly. Everything has to be consolidated into a single application before exporting, which slows down production and makes it harder to maintain flexibility across the design process.
The ideal workflow would enable Vantage to bring together content from:
V-Ray and Corona (via vrscene or other formats)
Enscape
3ds Max, SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, Grasshopper
Neutral formats such as OBJ, FBX, DAE, 3DS, USD, and MaterialX
This would allow users to assemble complete scenes in Vantage with minimal preparation, preserving both speed and visual quality. For example, the design could be authored in Revit, the terrain modeled in 3ds Max, façades developed in Rhino, and procedural geometry created in Grasshopper — all combined seamlessly inside Vantage.
Support for linking external files would also be essential, ensuring that updates made in the original design software are reflected non-destructively in Vantage, without requiring the entire scene to be rebuilt.
Hello, Vantage can combine scenes from different applications exported in various formats - *.vrscene *.vrmesh *.ply *.obj *.abc *.usd *.usdc *.usda *.usdz *.fbx *.3ds *.stl *.ter *.dae *.gltf *.glb. You can use either drag-n-drop a file from the explorer window or from File->Import menu.
Scene management is another topic. Currently there aren't any tools to reorganize scene hierarchy or manage layers(https://chaosvantage.ideas.aha.io/ideas/VANTAGE-I-141). Also no imported scenes manager (https://chaosvantage.ideas.aha.io/ideas/VANTAGE-I-163).
Additionally all imported scenes in Vantage are treated as references thus any change made to the original scene will be reflected in Vantage upon a scene reload.
